Acrylic, 8 x 10. Not for sale for sentimental reasons.

Arbuckle Shoreline
February 12, 2010

Oil on 11 inch by 14 inch stretched canvas. The scene is from the Lake of the Arbuckles in south central Oklahoma. If you remember the paintings of the large jumbled rocks posted on this blog earlier, this scene is just a short paddle beyond those rocks across the lake from The Point.  Since there are often whitecaps to deal with when paddling across to this inlet, I am often especially pleased to reach this inlet.

Water Hole in Winter
February 9, 2010

Acrylics on 9 inch by 12 inch canvas board. The scene is from the Lake Thunderbird area in central Oklahoma where vast herds of western cedars still roam the plains free. I painted this over another scene, so if you look closely, there is a spot or two in the sky with a bit more texture than expected, but overall, personally, I like this painting.

Second Winter Storm
January 29, 2010

In just a few months we may all be back to diving for cover while the tornado sirens are blaring here in Norman.

Cold River Run
January 5, 2010

Acrylic on  9 by 12 inch canvas board. Painting the figures in the canoe was like tattooing ants.

Mount Audubon, Colorado
December 29, 2009

Acrylics on  11 by 14 inch masonite panel. I really like this painting, personally, although I obviously broke some rules. Hike up the trail yourself and see whether this painting gets it right.

Down to the Creek
December 14, 2009

Acrylic on 9 by 7 inch stretched canvas. I have been happy to paint this scene in the past and may do so again since I enjoy being happy. Maybe the new painting turns out a little better than the last.

The Point
December 1, 2009

Acrylic, 11 by 14 panel. If I paint the same rocks from a slightly different angle, is that acceptable, or must I go through life seeking new rocks?

Early Morning Son
October 12, 2009

Oil on 11 by 14 inch primed hardboard.
